Community
Food System A
community food systems is composed of four components: the producer,
processing systems, avenues of distribution, and consumers. The greater
degree that these components are localized or regionalized, the more
resillent will be the rural community, the more sustainable will be
the production system, and the more secure will be the food system.
Our office is committed to programs that enhance a localized community
food system that provides numerous marketing and distribution options
for local producers and provides options for consumers to purchase
local products and support local agriculture.
