Dear Stevens County,
I’ve been “on the job” as your County Extension Director for
20 days. It’s been a whirlwind start – with lots of administration tasks to learn, previous projects to wrap up, and new ideas to take hold. |
 |
The first major project on the books is the Stevens County Horizons Poverty Reduction Program. Since September we’ve been recruiting and motivating communities in the county to take advantage of this Northwest Area Foundation Grant. I’m proud, happy and excited to note that six communities in Stevens County have applied and been accepted into this energizing, empowering program. We have more communities in our county than any other in the state! See the website above for more information – I encourage you to get involved in the nearest community listed.
As I go out into these six communities, I will be listening, planning and organizing educational programs that
1) are relevant and needed and
2) take advantage of the skills, assets and resources of our staff and Washington State University Extension.
I’m honored and excited to be your County Extension Director. Please stop in the office at 985 S. Elm to introduce yourself and help me understand you, your needs and our community.
Best regards, Debra Kollock |
