What
is a Master Gardener?
Master
Gardeners are people who have a deep interest in things that grow:
fruits, vegetables, trees, and flowers.
How
to become a Master Gardener?
The
first step to becoming a Master Gardener is to complete the training
program where you become a community educator. Specialists from
WSU Cooperative Extension and staff teach an in-depth home gardening
course with over $150 worth of training materials during the course.
In
return, Master Gardener volunteers are asked to contribute 40 hours
of their time each year after completing their training by helping
other gardeners with their questions and problems. The Master Gardener
program provides on-going educational opportunities, time for fun,
sharing of gardening information and a chance to provide a unique
service for our community.
